Come learn the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to safely handle and shoot a handgun. During this class you will learn how to safely handle, shoot, and clean a handgun among many other skills. The cost of the course is $150 dollars and requires: eye and ear protection, 100 rounds of ammunition, and an open mind. If you do not have a firearm, please contact us and we will make arrangements for you to use one of ours, ammunition NOT INCLUDED in tuition. Whether you have been shooting for years or you are new to handguns you will learn something from this class.

• AMMO NOTE: Please feel free to bring 22LR Ammo and use one of our guns to preserve your centerfire ammo.

What to Expect:

• Arrive at Blair County Game, Fish, and Forestry on Friday 03/10/2023 at 6:00 PM. No Firearms are needed for this portion of class. During this portion of class we will cover safety, firearm selection, ammo selection, storage, fundamentals, and more with the help of the NRA PowerPoint Presentation.
• On Saturday 3/11/2023 we will meet at the range, conduct a safety brief, and fire the NRA Course of Fire required for this course. This is a minimum of 60 rounds. After running this course in 2022 I have noticed that by having a break overnight students can reflect on the material presented and ask any questions that may have arisen. After completion of the course, students will receive a digital NRA Certificate that corresponds to the level of proficiency exhibited during live fire.
• If you are unable to meet Saturday, you can shoot the course of fire Sunday. If this helps, just ask and I can arrange for a time for you to meet at the range.
